Well the Tely 10 is over!

I'm so glad I decided to try it this year. It worked out well that I was here. Who would have thought I would have ran a 10 mile/16 KM road race. Well I ran at a slow pace. I finished in 1 hour and 40 mins. Not too bad for someone who hasn't ran before and who only started training 2 and a half weeks ago. I think I'm going to try the toronto half marathon this October. Running is a pleasant addiction. But I do know I will be going to the running room and getting a new pair of sneaks. Man my feet are some blistered. I won't even begin to tell you how sore my knees are. Who thought bending would be such a job. I took today off but back to the grind tomorrow. Either gym or running. I figure 3.8 k a day for a week won't be so bad, a nice little jog. I feel bad since I bought a nice gym membership but I haven't been using it much with all the running I've been doing. Either way I need to get that endurance up for October.

I do find it strange though, all this running and no loss of weight. I'm hoping its all being changed into muscle. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Cheers

Well its been a while!

Well you know how it is. You get all caught up in life and you forget about these kinds of things. Well life has been pretty interesting the last few weeks.

I'm nearing the end of my psych rotation and I have to admit I'm enjoying it a lot more then what I thought I would. I find mental illness very sad though. A lot of these people can be very sick but because its not physical it doesn't get looked at in the same light. I find this very sad. I must say a lot of my patients are very nice and I enjoy sitting down with them chatting and together trying to figure out together what would be the best thing to do. I didn't think it would be half as interesting as what its turning it out to be. I have a new found respect for psychiatrist!

Now on to other news. I won a trip to an Obestetrics conference in the Virgin Islands, all expenses paid. I was very excited when I found out. I love Obestetrics and I think it will be a wonderful educational experience. And to make matters even better Shannon has decided to come along too. He just needs to pay for his flight (which has already been booked) and pay his registration fees as a guest (which has already been done). Next we both need to get our passports renewed. They both expire in September and we are leaving in October.

Shannon is still working out West. Things are going very well. We are heading home (To New Brunswick) in three weeks to visit. I can't wait. I miss home. Home will always be home.

Well I started running about 2 and a half weeks ago. Tely 10 is tomorrow. The Tely 10 is the oldest road race in Atlantic Canada. I decided since I was going to be in NL this year I may as well enter it. Its a 16 KM run. It should be fun so long as I don't die. LOL. I'm actually not too worried since Annabeth and I tried it out last Sunday. My time wasn't great but hey I finished it and thats not too bad for such a short duration of running. Now all I need to do is start training for the Toronto 1/2 Marathon for October. I must say its a good way to get in shape. But I've been feeling a bit under the weather this past week and only went to the gym twice and ran once (yesterday). But we will see tomorrow how things work out. I'm excited.

Well I think thats enough for now.

Cheers
